Job Title: Complex Maintenance Manager Department: Manufacturing/Production Company: Associated Feed & Supply Full/Part-Time: Full-Time Location: Turlock, CA FLSA Status: Exempt (Salary) Shift: Days Rate of Pay: $105,000 to $135,000 per year. SUMMARY The Complex Maintenance Manager, reporting to the VP, Manufacturing, will oversee the major maintenance activities of all Associated Feed Plants in Northern California. Additionally, this role will assist and consult on maintenance issues in the Traver facility. This role with coordinate with plant management, sales, customer service, and purchasing on all major maintenance. This role will manage a fabrication/welding crew as well as electrical technicians. This role will also assume responsibility for managing the preventative maintenance programs including management of the program analyst. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Creates a culture that drives and builds a positive, safe, and efficient work environment. Develops and hires team members to aid in culture development; assists with training of new employees. Provides direction and oversight to maintenance team to ensure optimal efficiencies and availability of the plants. Assist with the establishment of all Preventative Maintenance Programs. Monitor progress of all PM entries with special emphasis on quality control and timely completion of tasks stated within the plan. Assumes responsibility for all major maintenance activities at each plant. Manages and complies with all safety policies, procedures, and established safety practices, as well as quality assurance and regulatory programs. Reviews repair and maintenance expenses with Plant Managers and helps develop a maintenance plan of action for each plant when appropriate. Maintains effective communication and works collaboratively with all departments including Operations, Sales, and other areas to ensure effective decisions and product availability. Provides technical and managerial expertise to solve problems, makes recommendations and oversees implementation of improvements. Responsible for hiring, development and retention of employees including resolution of disciplinary actions and employee issues; takes appropriate action with the assistance of the Human Resources Department. Completes performance reviews and provides feedback to employees; establishes performance development plans and goals. Reviews and approves employee timesheets; monitors overtime, vacation schedules and sick usage; assists with employee scheduling. Maintains all required documentation and records, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Recommends capital improvement projects and equipment replacement as justified through analysis of maintenance activities. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: Maintenance activities and industry methods, best practices, standards, and procedures HACCP, FSMA, SOP, GMP and environmental regulations and/or requirements Cal-OSHA regulations, procedures, and requirements Fabrication, welding, electrical basics, PLC’s Ability to: Lead, motivate and effectively build a team. Multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers. Prioritize and execute complex maintenance projects on time and on budget. Minimum Job Requirements, Experience and Training Guidelines: Ten (10) plus years in a maintenance role with increasing responsibility Strong managerial, analytical, and decision-making abilities Demonstrated effectiveness in fostering a collaborative team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change. Experience analyzing equipment performance and solving problems. Computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, timekeeping, production management and inventory control systems; SAP experience desired California driver’s license and insurable DMV record SPECIAL DEMANDS Frequent standing and/or long period of time on feet Occasional bending, squatting, and kneeling. Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds. Occasional grasping, holding, and reaching. Constant use of overall vision Frequent hearing and talking in person; may be required to wear ear protection or hear in noisy conditions. Frequent co-worker contact; occasional working alone Frequent exposure to loud noise Available to respond to emergency calls; work weekends and/or holidays. Able to climb ladders/stairs up to heights more than 100 feet. Working conditions Work may be performed inside or outside in hot and cool temperatures and a noisy environment. May be exposure to loud noises and steam exhaust, and dusty, muddy, and slick environment. Adhere to all PPE Guidelines as established by OSHA and the company.
