Overview: A leading Northern California Helicopter Service Company is looking for a Controller to manage the accounting operations. This position directs and oversees all operational accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, hands-on, and able to provide structure to the accounting function that is in line with company growth. Responsibilities include: Create and monitor departmental financial statements, and forecasts. Perform bank reconciliations, audits, and prepare for yearend tax returns. Prepare and process detailed monthly and annual financial statements. Assist with forecasting for P&L, and cash flow Prepare general ledger entries and all month end, quarter end and year end closings and reconciliations. Manage routine AR and AP reporting and analysis with department staff. Provide financial analyses for business operations, trends, cost, revenues, and financial commitments/obligations. Aid in development of internal controls and policies to conform and comply with legislation and established best practices. Prepare payrolls for bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly Prepare and process payroll tax deposits Prepare Payroll, Sales Tax, and Excise tax quarterly reports and year end reports Develop budget objectives Participate in Projects Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Five or more years accounting experience, preferably in an agriculture/utilities-based company. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is required. Strong, working knowledge of business and financial and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven analytical, research, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience.
