Tuscaloosa City Schools invites applications for the following position: Elementary Special Education Teacher Start Date: August 1, 2024 Location: Paul W. Bryant High School Job Goal: To help students learn concepts and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible members of society. Qualifications: A valid Alabama teachersÂ’ certificate in the area of instructional exceptionality. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of student behavior in his/her area of exceptionality as well as policies and procedures relevant to program implementation and participation. 2. Knowledge to interpret assessment data, group students, and develop methodologies and strategies conducive to individualized instructional needs. 3. Effective skills in oral and written communication to fulfill IEP requirements and communicate with students, parents, support agencies and other faculty and staff. 4. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast-paced, high-intensive work environment.
