JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE : Volunteer Position - Residential Aide DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Maternity Home REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Not Applicable SUPERVISES: None WORK SCHEDULE: Varies TRAVEL: Occasionally and locally CREATED ON: April 19, 2024 OVERVIEW: We seek a compassionate and dedicated individual, to fill the position of Residential Aide at our Maternity Home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and assisting pregnant women and mothers in a residential setting. This role involves ensuring the well-being and comfort of our guests, facilitating group activities, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. Resident Support: Provide support and guidance to guests. Assist guests in daily living activities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to address guests' medical and emotional needs. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the maternity home, rooted in Christian love and compassion. Collaborate with other entities when addressing client’s needs. Personal Care: Assist guests with personal hygiene routines and self-care, recognizing the sacredness of their bodies as vessels of life. Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of living spaces, reflecting our reverence for the space entrusted to us. Manage cleaning schedules and keep accurate records of tasks and chores assigned to guests throughout the stay. Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure living environment for guests, including conducting walkthroughs periodically and even throughout the night to ensure curfew times are kept. Monitor and address any safety concerns promptly, to The Lily Pad Coordinator or directly to the guests, if the issue can be resolved immediately. Implement and enforce house rules and policies rooted in Christian values, cultivating a community atmosphere. Daily Operations: Oversee daily activities, including mealtimes, chores, and recreational activities, and coordinate transportation needs. Maintain accurate records of resident interactions and activities, acknowledging the sacredness of every moment spent in service to others. Assure compliance with all licenses and inspections required, upholding ethical and moral standards in all endeavors. Adheres to all Policies and Procedures at all times. Assure adequate and accurate stewardship of all resources. Maintains total transparency throughout the delivery of services. Education and Guidance: Provide approved educational materials and resources on prenatal care, parenting, and life skills. Conduct approved workshops and sessions training on daily living skills. Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, staff, and external partners, guided by honesty, integrity, and love principles. Report any concerns or incidents to the supervisor promptly, seeking wisdom and discernment in every communication. Maintain open communication with The Lily Pad Coordinator at all times, recognizing their authority and working collaboratively to discuss issues or cases. Advocacy: Advocate for guests' needs within the community, highlighting every individual's inherent dignity and worth. Collaborate with community resources through a lens of faith, recognizing our shared responsibility to serve and uplift those in need. Qualifications: Must be a professed, faithful, and engaged Christian who believes in life-affirming care, guided by biblical principles. Previous experience in residential care, particularly in a maternity home setting, is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications are a plus. Must be able to speak English fluently and Spanish, with a heart open to embracing diverse cultures and backgrounds. Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude towards guests facing various challenges, reflecting the love and grace extended to us by a higher power. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, grounded in the teachings of Christ on love and empathy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, recognizing the interconnectedness of all beings in the eyes of God. Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality, honoring the trust placed in us by our guests and the divine. Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must be drug-free and advocate for a drug-free environment, recognizing our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. Possess strong organizational and documentation skills, recognizing our responsibility to steward resources wisely and with integrity. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license and valid insurance to drive company vehicles, acknowledging the importance of safety and responsibility in all endeavors. Have a strong knowledge of human life from conception to natural death, ensuring everyone lives free from harm or danger, aligning with divine will. Must be computer literate, including essential words and data entry, using technology as a tool for good and service unto others. Able to accept responsibility, follow and exceed organizational standards, and recognize our accountability to a higher authority. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. These include lifting more than 40 lbs, going up and down stairs, crawling, sitting, and kneeling. Operations: Assure adequate and accurate stewardship of all resources, recognizing that every resource entrusted to us is a gift from above. Maintain total transparency throughout the delivery of services, guided by principles of honesty, integrity, and accountability in all actions.
