The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the tax department, engaging in predominantly transactional work. The tax associates collaborate closely with securities and finance lawyers, as well as interact with investment bankers, financial advisors, and government officials nationwide. The Tax Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling transactional tax matters, providing legal counsel on complex financial transactions, and contributing to the firm's commitment to serving communities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for career growth and the potential to become a national specialist in selected fields. Duties:Conduct legal research on tax issues related to complex transactions.Draft and review legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements.Provide legal counsel to clients on tax implications and strategies.Collaborate with securities and finance lawyers to ensure comprehensive legal support.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations. Requirements:Admitted to practice in the State Bar.0-5 years of experience in transactional tax work.Experience in public finance or related transactional tax experience is beneficial. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.LL.M. in Taxation from a recognized institution. Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.Time management and organizational skills.
