Job Overview: The Associate Director, ISC Cost to Win Leader IS/CC is a critical member of the IS/CC Platform team. Reporting to the Sr Director, ISC CTW Cost Improvement, he/she will work closely with the platform Integrator and peers in Procurement, BD Excellence, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Finance, HR, Med Affairs, Marketing, and commercial organizations to support the lowest cost to serve.The role will be a member of the platform team and is responsible for driving Cost Improvement strategies in support of the platform's strategic product cost and GP goals along with the cost improvement goals of the ISC and its manufacturing sites. He/she will partner with the Director, ISC Integrator IS/CC to ensure clarity to product cost goals and methods to achieve the goals focused on the cost to manufacture, the cost of the design/materials and the cost of customer delivery.He/she will partner and be responsible for the development and successful execution of plans in support of the overall ISC & platform cost out strategies including but not limited to network optimization, productivity improvement, material & design cost-out initiatives, and capital investments within the IS/CC Platform team.Additionally, the ISC Cost to Win Leader IS/CC will partner and be the Cost Improvement point of contact for currently 8 sites located the NA/SA region (Outside of BD MDS IPD "SwissCo sites) Responsibilities: Drive the Cost to Win process for the platform; including but not limited to maintaining visibility to GP goals costs targets, providing leadership and support to drive ideation, feasibility & project execution to deliver platform cost to win savings. Facilitates business and plant teams to maintain progress on successfully achieving 3-year CTW plans and ensuring plant budgets align with CTW plans.He/she will represent and lead Cost Improvement activities on the IS/CC Platform team (>$925M annual spend) connected to the respective plants, sustaining & supply chain teams.Represent the NA/SA sites as the one point of contact for cost improvement, supporting to develop multiyear strategies to achieve annual goals.He/she will design and develop plans to meet and exceed the platform product cost targets GP objectives. Drive ideation and feasibility activities with supporting business cases to show return on investment (ROI) for cost improvement initiatives including but not limited to alternative materials, changes in vendors, changes in design, changes in network architecture, alternate technology investments, etc. to achieve cost reduction objectives.Supports the Director, ISC Integrator in strategy development on Architectural/network programs execution. Proactively communicates across these organizations while taking a leadership role in executing the strategy.Align ISC strategies with the worldwide platform team, supply chain organization, and regional management in assessing regional and global cost improvement opportunities. Provide linkage to leverage opportunities across sites.Under the direction of the Director, ISC Integrator develop and initiate CB-2 capital requests for cost improvement. Work with plants, R&D, finance, supply planners, marketing, and platform leaders in the development and approval of CB-2's recommending capital expenditures and their financial justification. Provides analysis and narrative outlining project objectives, scope, and timing. Provides capital planning information and monitors capital spending to ensure compliance to targets and forecast.Provide leadership and coordination to get plant priorities approved, resourced, and implemented. Meet with marketing, R&D, Regulatory, QA and others to ensure plant programs are aligned with market needs and get required support to complete implementation.Maintains a strong communication pathway with the ISC VPs, collaborates with plant managers, GIE, R&D and others to develop operations plans for production startup of new products and line extensions including the selection of equipment and methods.Ensures all IS/CC ISC related decisions are aligned with the VP ISC Operations overseeing the NA/SA sites Leadership attributes and Key Behaviors Lead from the front, demonstration of servant leadershipStrong planning and execution skills to:Address future business opportunities.Resolve challenges to support feasibility & execution.Develop and execute cost improvement plans by product, by site.Ensure the development of process capabilities/technologies.Manage risk and investment.Fail fast and learn, evaluate and execute.Brings others together to act and provides leadership.Develop knowledge of platform (business, process, products) and customersHave a global thinking, multi-site view with a long-term horizon.Attract and retain diverse talent and play an integral role in the professional development of direct reports.Promote collaborative / Inclusive style.Builds strong diverse teams that demonstrate BD Values and strive for continuous improvement. Required skills and knowledge Technical Area of Expertise: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or other bachelor's degree,MBA desired.Minimum 8 years manufacturing experience / leadership experience, Continuous Improvement and / or Program Manager for large projects minimum 2-4 years.Operational excellence, quality, regulatory, business acumen, and finance advanced knowledge in cost accountingStrong technical expertise in project management and operations management with strong knowledge in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (GB/BB certification preferred).Communication skills with all levels of the organization Personal Specification: Flexible and able to travel.
