Practice Area: Litigation - Workers' Compensation - Plaintiffs, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, A law firm in Charlotte is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to represent injured plaintiff-employees throughout the various stages of their North Carolina Workers’ Compensation cases, including litigation at the Deputy Commissioner, Full Commission, and North Carolina Court of Appeals levels. Duties:Represent injured plaintiff-employees in their NC workers’ compensation cases.Provide legal advice and representation during all phases of the case.Assist injured employees in obtaining benefits under the NC Workers’ Compensation Act.Litigate cases at various levels of the NC Industrial Commission and Court of Appeals.Draft pleadings, discovery, orders, motions, and briefs.Negotiate settlement agreements and terms with opposing parties.Oversee and manage Workers’ Compensation Case Managers and Paralegals. Requirements:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.License to practice law in North Carolina.5+ years of legal experience in a Workers’ Compensation law firm and/or insurance defense firm; plaintiff’s side experience preferred.Exceptional analytical writing and verbal communication skills.Outstanding interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.Extensive knowledge of medical issues in Workers’ Compensation claims and the hearing process.Experience with Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs.Experience using Litify software is preferred. Education:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Certifications:License to practice law in North Carolina. Skills:Strong analytical writing and verbal communication abilities.Exceptional interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office.Extensive knowledge of Workers’ Compensation claims and hearing process.Experience with Litify software preferred.
