Job Overview The Senior, Investigations & Training leads all aspects of the investigations program within assigned locations, encompassing internal investigations and support for organized retail crime investigations, fraud investigations, and supply chain investigations when appropriate. Additionally, this position executes AP training initiatives and supports global AP strategies. What You Will Do Lead the execution of the internal investigations program for stores to identify inventory and profit loss. Coordinate with the Organized Retail Crime (ORC) team on the investigation and resolution of low/mid-level organized retail crime and major thefts. Collaborate with the Fraud Strategy team to address emerging POS fraud trends, focusing on identifying bad actors and resolving issues through investigative means. Work closely with the Supply Chain Asset Protection team to conduct internal investigations in facilities, lead all cargo theft investigations, and manage network investigations. Provide training on investigative systems, tools/technology, and techniques to asset protection leaders and colleagues. Drive the execution of global AP refresher training with Divisional Director; AP. Facilitate Macy's interview training and conduct the certification process for all participants. Actively participate in lead generation, case development, and investigative interviews in stores. Demonstrate the ability to develop investigations through exception reporting and trend analysis. Witness investigative interviews for the purpose of coaching to improve technique and ensure compliance with procedures. Coordinate closely with the Central Investigations Unit to develop and handle investigative leads expeditiously. Manage all major investigations, including those with significant financial impact, complexity, and high sensitivity. Take ownership of all internal case administration, including partnership with Colleague Advisory on dispositions and case approvals within the company-prescribed time frame. Prepare and communicate major investigations to senior leadership. Make prosecutorial decisions on internal cases consistent with company guidance and standards. Provide testimony in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings on behalf of the company. Provide direction and follow-up on all aspects of restitution, including the issuance of promissory notes and solicitation of court-ordered restitution. Coordinate and cooperate with law enforcement agencies (federal, state, local) and prosecuting attorney's offices in directing investigations and presenting cases for prosecution. Maintain a global asset protection focus and leadership to support store leadership on external strategies, shortage reduction strategies, and talent development of AP leaders and colleagues in assigned locations. Utilize all investigative and analytical tools, including RFID technology, to analyze trends and patterns. Establish business partnerships with Region, Division, and Store leadership to accomplish individual and team goals. Skills You Will Need Analytical Proficiency: Ability to analyze data, trends, and patterns for identifying potential issues and risks. Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey training content and expectations. Collaboration and Coordination: Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including ORC, Fraud Strategy, and Supply Chain Asset Protection. Leadership and Management: Capability to manage major investigations with significant financial impact, complexity, and high sensitivity. Communication and Reporting: Ability to prepare and communicate major investigations to senior leadership. Investigative Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with investigative systems, tools/technology, and techniques. Business Partnerships: Establishing and maintaining business partnerships with Region, Division, and Store leadership. Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with company-prescribed procedures and standards in all aspects of investigations. Strategic Planning: Contribute to global asset protection strategies and support store leadership on external strategies and shortage reduction strategies. Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 3+ years direct experience and Certification of Macy's Interviewing Program. Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft reports and other communications; present to management and internal and external business partners; interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to carry out instructions given in written, oral, and diagram form; solve problems involving several concrete variables in practical situations. This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
