Brook Farm Veterinary Center is hiring a part-time Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Why do employees love working for Brook Farm? As a Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients through compliance with the attending doctor’s orders. On a daily basis, you will educate clients, triage patients, calculate medical dosages and administer medications, run in-house lab work, place tubes and catheters, monitor and ensure your patients’ comfort, update clients on their pet’s progress, and perform a variety of other tasks. This requires solid technical skills and your commitment to providing patients and clients with the highest standard of care. Flexibility with scheduling and a team-player mentality are crucial in our fast-paced environment. At Brook Farm, we view technicians as vital members of the medical team. Critical thinking skills are highly valued and working here is an opportunity to use your knowledge and skills. Your ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment with compassion, efficiency, and flexibility is key to success in this role. Desired Qualifications AA degree or BA/BS degree from AVMA-accredited veterinary technician program. Veterinary Technician license in good standing. Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above at our discretion.
