Position Overview The incumbent assumes shift responsibility for operating and maintaining building essential services in a safe and efficient manner. Operates and maintains electric, gas, and oil fired boilers, large centrifugal water chillers and associated auxiliary equipment. Efficiently operates building automation systems, making adjustments when required to ensure normal operation of all building plant systems. Experience Previous experience as a shift engineer, preferably in a health care, commercial, or institutional setting. Wide range of experience with heating, pneumatic and air handling systems preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade XII education. In accordance with the Regulations under the Power Engineers Act, a valid and current Manitoba Third Class Power Engineer’s Certificate required. Interprovincial certificate and graduate from a recognized technical school or equivalent preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications and Skills Ability to handle the demands of shift work. Ability to work in a computerized office system environment. Must be able to interpret mechanical, electrical, architectural and pneumatic drawings & technical manuals. Must adhere to all Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health regulations...
