The ideal candidate will assist in patent prosecution, drafting patent applications, conducting analyses, and providing legal opinions in intellectual property matters. Collaboration with attorneys and staff members on various IP-related tasks is central to this role.Duties:Assist in writing and filing utility and design patent applicationsPursue U.S. and foreign patent protectionConduct freedom-to-operate analysesDraft opinions of counselCollaborate with team attorneys and staff on intellectual property mattersPerform patentability analysesEngage in patent drafting and prosecutionHandle IP-related agreements and litigation tasksRequirements:2-4 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecutionUndergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering fieldStrong academic credentialsSolid work ethicExcellent writing and analytical skillsEducation and Certifications:Admission to the North Carolina Bar or the Minneapolis State BarAdmission to practice before the U.S. Patent Trademark Office or eligibility to sit for the Patent BarSkills:Proficiency in patent prosecutionAbility to conduct patentability analysesStrong drafting skills for patent applicationsKnowledge of intellectual property lawExcellent communication and collaboration abilities
