Senior Global Sourcing/Procurement Manager

Overview: Responsible for sourcing brand right fabric and trim for apparel and non-apparel with a focus on keeping the manufacturing process on schedule while achieving brand quality and margin expectations. Develops and manages best-in-class supplier relationships. Responsibilities: · Responsible for the development and execution of a global sourcing strategy for Soft Surroundings in partnership with Sourcing Director · Partner with product design and development to best execute business targets and proactively develop strategies to increase supply chain flexibility · Manage the seasonal costing calendar with agents/vendors and engage with vendors during the seasonal costing process · Understand and leverage our suppliers' capabilities and business plans and apply to support Soft Surroundings targets and long-range plans · Utilize factory performance metrics - development, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance - to guide source selection, allocation and business planning activities · Partner with VP of Sourcing on style negotiations and delivery issues to achieve or surpass company goals · Develop new vendors as needed to provide the capacity and/or product required to support current and future needs · In close collaboration with the design, development and FP+A team track key material cost drivers and timely communicate relevant information, with product cost implications, to appropriate stakeholders across the business · Utilize factory performance metrics - development, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance - to guide source selection, allocation and business planning activities · Secures all photo samples to calendar milestones · Maintains professional demeanor at all times; able to conduct complex business operations, anticipate and solve problems of an unusual and complex nature, across multiple communication platforms with a diverse cultural and professional mix. · Ensure that the strategy manages risk, aligns with finished goods strategy and Brand strategies, and optimizes location and capability of raw material source base · Nimbly identify issues and pivot to avoid financial or brand risk · Establishes and maintains strong relationships with cross functional and global partners Mentor and coach members of the Sourcing team and support a learning environment to strengthen employees. Compentencies: · A comprehensive knowledge of the global raw materials source base, and garment manufacturing including, costing and functional components Understanding of quality control methodologies · Strong negotiation and cost-efficiency background working with onshore and offshore vendors · Superior time management skills · Able to deliver results on a calendar timeline · Ability to analyze, recommend and implement process improvements relative to the position Strong written and oral communication skills. Background and Skills: College degree or relative work experience. Adept in Microsoft Suite Products. Know of fabric and garment production and an in-depth knowledge of knit and woven fabrications as ewll as linked sweater yarns. 5-7 years of Apparel/Fabric/Textile sourcing and/or Product Development experience.
