8/29/16 Sayari Analytics is looking for a Data Scientist to deliver insights and value from heterogeneous data with solutions that integrate into engineering and decision processes as part of our team. The Sayari Analytics team of 13 is located near Washington, D.C. with a global footprint in Africa, Latin America, Europe and Asia. This position will be an individual contributor role, managing peers on the team as needed. Who are We? Sayari Analytics is a threat finance data discovery firm that leverages emerging technologies, network analytics, and open source data to help customers reduce risk exposure and mitigate the rapidly increasing costs of compliance. We provide mission critical support to financial intelligence units, specializing in investigations that cut across sectors, languages, and jurisdictions. The Challenge The International Monetary Fund estimates the annual rate of global money laundering to be USD $3-5 trillion (2-5% of global GDP). US government estimates that less than 0.1% of these funds are identified and stopped. These funds flow through international financial institutions undetected, enriching illicit actors and sustaining conflict around the world. A successful candidate can rapidly develop a deep understanding of business data and serve as a thought partner to guide the engineering and executive teams in navigating data assets. You also participate in BI development projects as a stakeholder and technical advisor to take the most innovative data solutions and data visualization prototypes. You are a curious independent thinker, excited by challenges in data applications for financial fraud and risk modeling, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Your Skills ● 2-3 years of web development experience, preferably with web-based analytics platforms; emphasis on behind-the-scenes foundations of the app ● Expertise in development on the ASP.NET MVC stack ● Proficiency in MongoDB and Neo4j architecture and optimization; experienced in external data ingestion (structured API streams and semi-structured flat-file data) ● Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform ● Your Personal Qualities ● Team player with a great attitude, sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life (it’s not all about work). ● Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with equanimity ● Ability to execute like a champ – knows how to prioritize and work with minimal supervision ● Have sound understanding of business with excellent aptitude for technical details ● Be able to back up recommendations using facts (data preferred) ● Strong problem solving skills, you like challenges. ● Extreme detail orientation, especially when it comes to flyspecking your work before releasing into the community because you want to produce a consistent, highly polished community member experience ● You want to see the results of your work first hand. ● You enjoy interacting with customers and working to innovate solutions with them, because our team lives for that ● You're hands on, action oriented, adaptable and you care about customers ● You have demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products ● Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority Sayari Analytics Sayari Analytics (Equal Opportunity Employer).
